46p homemade Fridge Raiders recipe praised by mums online as it saves ‘some serious money’

A mum is going viral on TikTok thanks to her homemade take on the classic chicken snack Fridge Raiders.

Parents have been loving the affordable recipe’s price-per-portion, just 46p, which is just a fraction of the store-bought version’s usual price of £1.30 a pack.

“Would you believe me if I told you you could make these for a fraction of the price that they are in the shops and that they’re better for you?” TikToker Emily began her video.

First up, she measured out a teaspoon each of paprika, onion granules, and garlic granules, adding them to a bowl.

Next, she added a half teaspoon of salt, a sprinkle of black pepper, and two generous tablespoons of mayonnaise to the bowl with the spices.

She mixed everything well, suggesting a bit of water be added if the mixture seemed “too thick”.

Emily then cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and tossed them in the marinade, making sure they were well coated.

The content creator let the chicken marinate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavours to develop.

Finally, after the marinating time was up, she added the chicken pieces to her air fryer and cooked them for 12 to 14 minutes.

“This will make at least seven portions unless you’ve got teenagers like me, then they don’t last long!” she concluded.

“Great for lunchboxes or for a protein hit,” Emily captioned the clip. “Trust me they don’t last long in the fridge!”

Commenters could not thank the mum enough for the recipe, with one person saying: “I myself go through so many packets of Fridge Raiders. Deffo be trying this. Thanks a mill!”

“It’s saved us some serious money,” Emily responded.

“I love love love this! Definitely will give it a go,” a second user commented.

“Oo this is super handy, thanks!” someone else added.
