2. Yakiniku Horumon Matchan

At Yakiniku Horumon Matchan in Nara, Japan, a muscular man cooks and serves you food. The concept has opened its first restaurant outside Japan in Hong Kong.

The restaurant is known for its budget-friendly prices, high-quality Wagyu beef and fun environment – for every pull-up you can manage in the restaurant’s pull-up challenge, you are awarded a free slice of meat.

208 Italian takes over the spot where Italian restaurant 208 Duecento Otto used to be. There, chef Emanuele Canuto, who is from Piedmont, cooks regional favourites with a modern twist.

Highlights include Neapolitan-style pizzas and pasta dishes such as ravioli del plin, filled with veal, chicken, and pork. Wash it all down with signature cocktails such as its aged Negroni.

Japanese-Western fusion restaurant Que opens its seventh branch in the city this month, and highlights on the menu include sushi tacos with Italian balsamic vinegar, a range of desserts by award-winning pastry chef Rin Horiuchi and iced teas in flavours such as strawberry and peach, and yuzu and shiso.
