The project is part of a huge renovation of Aberdeen seafront over the next 20 years.

The Beach Masterplan will include a large “rope factory” playpark with climbing structures, swings and slides as well as a skate park, sports and games area.

The biggest tower would be nearly 80ft tall, with nine floors and metal chutes spiralling around it.

Lives shows, festivals and performances will take place across the new events space, amphitheatre and plaza.

The green space will also be improved with viewing platforms on the beach, along with a new pier.

The project states: “The Beach Masterplan is designed capitalise on the built and natural assets of the area which is a tourism priority in its own right and will continue to be in demand in a post-CV19 and recovery phase as people seek safe, outdoor, wildlife, and active experiences.

“The beach area is also an intrinsic component of the Aberdeen Coastal Trail, and the wide variety of tourism offer that includes nature, golf, maritime history, and dolphin watching.”

Chief commercial officer Craig Innes confirmed that works could start next month.

The huge renovation includes other new attraction opening in Aberdeen, with the project including a £50m Aberdeen Market being inspired by similar ones in London, as well as a new stadium for Aberdeen FC.

The website states: “The new market was given planning permission in May 2022, and it will be a destination venue featuring international-style food and drink outlets.”

And the Beach Masterplan isn’t the only part of the UK coastline being improved.
