Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has landed herself in a tight spot. The Veere Di Wedding actress is facing heavy backlash on social media for her ‘fake accent’ in a recent viral video. The video which is making rounds on the internet, features Sonam talking about her favourite summer holiday destination, luxury brands, and haircare secrets. However, what caught netizens’ attention was her accent.

As soon as the video went viral on the internet, netizens were quick to take to the comment section and criticize her, recalling past instances where she was mocked for the same reason. Some users highlighted her mispronunciation of certain words due to her accent, while others speculated that her speech might have been affected by purported lip fillers.

One user commented, “She’s doing the opposite of what our Foreign Minister Mr Jaishankar does—while he’s building international relations, she might just get Indians banned from other countries with that accent.” Another user remarked, “Lol, she tried to adopt an English accent but couldn’t maintain it beyond the first few sentences.”
