After facing multiple failures, Puru Rajkumar bid goodbye to the film industry. His last appearance was in the Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Action Jackson.
Veteran actor Rajkumar was a prominent name in the Bollywood industry. The actor began his career in 1952 with the film Rangeeli. Over the years, he delivered several hits and built a legacy under his name. It was widely anticipated that his son, Puru Rajkumar, would carry forward his legacy and emerge as a celebrated actor. However, things turned out quite differently, as Puru failed to impress audiences and ended up being labelled a huge flop.
Puru Rajkumar started his career with Karisma Kapoor in the 1996 film Bal Brahmachari. Despite being launched in a grand manner by directors and producers, Puru failed to connect with the audience, and the movie performed poorly at the box office.
Puru appeared in approximately 20 films during his acting career, including titles like Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Mission Kashmir, Vadh, Dosh, Veer, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jago, and Umrao Jaan. Unfortunately, none of these films managed to make a significant impact at the box office. Despite working alongside several prominent stars and consistently trying his luck, he struggled to resonate with the audience and failed to leave a lasting impression.
Puru Rajkumar Rejected a Big Offer
In 2000, Puru Rajkumar was offered a role in the blockbuster Dhadkan. He was approached to play Sunil Shetty’s character in the film. However, Puru declined the offer. In an interview, the film’s director, Dharmesh Darshan, revealed that he had offered the role to Puru, explaining that it had grey shades. Upon hearing this, Puru made up his mind immediately and decided to reject the role.
