Julius Malema has slammed a lack of diversity amongst the crowd gathered to greet Bafana Bafana after they landed at OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday, 14 February.
The team returned from their stint at the Afcon tournament in Ivory Coast, where they won a bronze medal for third place.
The EFF president was praised for showing his support and motivation to the national soccer team.

MALEMA UPSET BY BAFANA BAFANA SUPPORT
In videos and pictures posted on social media, Malema joined thousands of EFF supporters who welcomed Bafana Bafana home.
A tweet from the party’s official X account read: “Fighters came out in their numbers to OR Tambo to welcome Bafana Bafana home. The EFF will always support and rally behind the South African football team.”

Apart from the political party, very few other soccer fans were seen in the crowd.
Speaking to the media, Malema berated South Africans for their no-show.
“You can’t see hardly two white people, and it’s something you must not talk about because you are dividing us. But when it is a white sport, we are all there. Including those who have no idea about the sport”.

He added: “It’s so unfortunate. But nevertheless, we must continue to love ourselves. We must not love ourselves depending on the love of others”.

Echoing his sentiments was fellow EFF member Carl Niehaus who scolded South Africans for their lack of support.
Niehaus – who dumped the ANC for the Red Berets – tweeted:” I am deeply disappointed, actually disgusted, with white South Africans!
