A milestone for kids of the 2000s is quickly approaching.
Jan. 9, 2025 is the 25th anniversary of the premiere of “Malcolm in the Middle.”
But not only that — they’re ba-ack!
Frankie Muniz is returning as Malcolm for a “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, Deadline reports.
The actor, who grew up in Ridgewood, became a household name upon the show’s debut on Fox. The comedy series ran seven seasons, ending in 2006.
Joining Muniz in the revival series will be Emmy winner Bryan Cranston, who played Malcolm’s father, Hal, before he soared as Walter White in “Breaking Bad.”
Jane Kaczmarek, who played Malcolm’s mother, Lois, is also returning for the new show, set to stream on Disney+.
The series revival will consist of four episodes.
Series co-creator Linwood Boomer is also back to write the show, along with director Ken Kwapis.
“OH MY GOSH!” Muniz, 39, said in an Instagram post. “I’m so excited to announce that after 18 years, Malcolm in the Middle is returning with new episodes on @disneyplus! Get ready, we can’t wait for everyone to see what Malcolm and his family have been up to!”
Muniz, Cranston and Kaczmarek made the announcement in a video for Disney+ that started with Cranston and Kaczmarek shouting “Malcolm!!!” like Hal and Lois.
“Yes, I hear you, I’m coming,” a slightly annoyed Muniz replied (he now has his own 3-year-old son).
“I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years,” he said in the video. “Let’s find out where Malcolm and his family are now.”
“I’m so excited that I may have peed … just a little bit,” said Cranston, 68. “Excuse me.”
“What a delight that I get to yell at that kid again,” said Kaczmarek, also 68, laughing. “We’re very very excited about coming back together and seeing what this family has been up to.”
