Rajya Sabha MP and philanthropist Sudha Murty expressed profound joy and gratitude as she participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, fulfilling a personal vow of devotion. Murty, who arrived at the sacred gathering on Monday, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and performed tarpan, a ritual to honour ancestors. “I made a vow for three days. I took a holy dip yesterday, today I will do it again, and tomorrow as well,” she said. Speaking about her family’s rituals, Murty added, “My maternal grandfather, grandmother, and grandfather could not come here. That is why I have to offer tarpan in their name, and I am very happy”.
