WHATSAPP is making a big change to how people send voice notes.
And users will either love it or hate it.
In a bid to improve privacy, the popular messaging app has added the ability to make voice notes “view once” – aka self destruct.
This means the receiver cannot tap to listen to the voice note again.
So if you reveal some sensitive information you don’t want repeated you can rest assured it won’t be shared with others.
However, it might prove annoying for recipients who may have misheard a part of the message.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen view once on WhatsApp.
Back in 2021, the Meta-owned app first introduced it for photos and videos.
“Thank God,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I have been waiting for this update.”

Another added: “I like this one.”
But some people revealed they were running out of patience.
“Waiting since ages for View Once TEXTS,” a person commented.
Meanwhile others who appear to dislike voice notes said: “Please can we have an option to ban voice notes.”
WhatsApp says “view once” voice notes are rolling out globally over the coming days.
