How to make Yorkshire pudding taller fast without an oven – easy recipe

Cooking Yorkshire puddings may seem simple, but they can end up flat, wonky and soggy-bottomed.

To avoid this, cookbook author and the woman behind the Daily Yum food blog Irina has shared her 13-minute recipe you don’t need the oven for.

Irina recommends using the air fryer as it “gives the pudding a nice crispy exterior while keeping the inside light, airy and fluffy”.

Describing her recipe, She said: “The air fryer Yorkshire pudding is a five-ingredient show-stopping golden puffy buns that are made in the air fryer in minutes and risen to a jaw-dropping height and shape.”

For this recipe, you will need either ramekins or silicone muffin liners. After testing both, Irina pointed out that silicone muffin liners work the best as the puddings “slide out with ease” and “rise better”.

Ingredients

One cup of milk

One cup of flour

Three medium eggs

Half a teaspoon of salt

Two tablespoons of oil

Method

Start by combining all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth consistency so there are no lumps in the batter.

Next, generously grease each muffin cup with oil and place them in the air fryer to heat up for five minutes.

Pour the batter into each hot greased muffin cup. Fill it in only halfway.

Cook for 13 minutes at 190 degrees then flip after 10 minutes and cook the bottoms for the remaining three minutes or until golden to your liking.

Irina said: “Once you open it, be prepared for the jaw-dropping effect. You will be amazed at how beautiful they look and how much they have risen.

“The result is golden, fluffy Yorkshire puddings that are sure to impress your family and friends.”

Yorkshire puddings are not only savoury delights, they can also be turned into sweet treats.

As a sweet dessert, Irina recommends serving them with fruit, custard and whipped cream.
