Service NSW announced last week that over $100 million worth had been left unspent by residents across 10 LGAs alone.

All up, it’s estimated some $300 million worth of vouchers have yet to be spent.

However, those attempting to use their vouchers on Wednesday night were met with an error message stating: “Something went wrong. We were unable to load your vouchers. Try again later.”

Disappointed customers have flooded social media to air their frustrations, with many suspecting the high volume of activity on the app was to blame.

“Dine and Discover vouchers are not loading right now, possibly because everyone is rushing to use them before they expire. Will this stuff up thousands of people using them?” one person said.

“Unsurprising to see the Service NSW App Dine & Discover vouchers crash and burn on the final night. Watched a dude not even able to claim off a screenshot of the QR so looks like the entire back end has just bottomed out on us all,” another said.

Service NSW says the issue has since been rectified.

“The Service NSW vouchers database experienced an outage at 5.01pm. Service NSW investigated and resolved the issue by 6pm,” a spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

However, numerous customers were still reporting technical difficulties well beyond 6pm.
