In preparation for their enlistment, Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, communicated through the fan platform Weverse on the 5th, announcing “There will be no separate official events on the day of joining the recruit training unit”. They also earnestly requested fans to refrain from visiting the site to ensure the safety of everyone and prevent potential accidents due to congestion.
The anticipated date of discharge for both RM and V is set for June 10, 2025, marking a significant milestone in their individual journeys within the military.
On the eve of their enlistment, RM and V took a poignant moment to share their thoughts with fans. RM expressed, “The day has finally come. I had a lot of thoughts swirling in my head, but now that it’s here, I find it hard to speak. I was so happy to live as a member of BTS for the past ten years. I’ve always said this, but the end is also a beginning. I firmly believe that something good awaits us after this”. He added, “It must have been much harder for Jin and J-hope, who had to endure this time before us. Seeing them handling it so bravely gives us great courage. I believe these 18 months, whether long or short, will be a time of strange and new inspiration and learning for all of us”. RM acknowledged the strength displayed by fellow members Jin and J-hope, who had already faced this period, and conveyed his belief that the upcoming 18 months would be a time of new inspiration and learning.
V, who showcased his freshly cut hair with a post titled “D-1”, shared his excitement about trying a look he had long fantasized about, “It was a fantasy of mine. Shaved head and sunglasses. I’ve always wanted to try it someday, and I’m glad I did”. He celebrated the moment with a cake bearing the message ‘I’ll wait’, expressing gratitude and warmth toward his fans.
Looking ahead, the 12th will mark not only the enlistment of RM and V but also set the stage for Jimin and Jungkook to join their fellow BTS members in fulfilling their military duties. With this collective commitment, all seven members of BTS embark on a new chapter, leaving an indelible mark on the global music scene while they temporarily shift their focus to serve their country.
