‘We won’t reduce our conference to an individual’: EFF on Ndlozi

Outgoing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) secretary-general Marshall Dlamini says they will not reduce the party’s elective conference to an individual regarding member of Parliament Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

The EFF is holding its third three-day National People’s Assembly at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg.

HAS MBUYISENI NDLOZI BEEN BARRED FROM EFF CONFERENCE?

In November, Sunday World reported that Ndlozi had been banned from attending all EFF political activities. These included meetings of the party’s War Council, which met weekly as well as its Central Command Team (CCT).

The publication further reported that Ndlozi was placed on leave of absence, preventing him from doing his job as a member of parliament.

Ahead of the conference, Malema likened the reports about Ndlozi to shebeen gossip. He also said that if the party had something to say about Ndlozi, it would communicate it.

Ndlozi was nowhere to be seen in the build-up to the elective conference, and he was reportedly absent at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Soweto campus, where delegates registered for the conference.

On Friday, 13 December, Dlamini told the media that Ndlozi has not communicated with the party about whether he is available for a leadership position in the third NPA.

“We will not reduce our conference to an individual. We’re here now on the third NPA. This NPA will prove that no one is bigger than this organisation. This is an organisation of members of the EFF; you’re a member, and you know what is expected. So, I’m not going to entertain any name. I’ve got 2500 delegates here; it starts and ends there,” Dlamini said.
